Spiderman vs. Iron Man
Tags: iron man, marvel comics, spiderman
Ground rules: Both characters as depicted in their recent films. The area is New York.
Personal Bias: I don’t have much experience with either character in the comic books, although I have seen the old Spidey cartoon (not the on that deputed on MTV.) I like the character of Spiderman best and prefer Spiderman 2 to Iron Man, but just barely.
Fight! We start off with Iron Man flying high over the city, spotting Spidey swing between buildings. Iron Man waits for a clear shot away from civilians and fires a missle at the hero.
Spidey sense goes off and he shoots off a web down an intesection with hopes of swinging around the corner before the explosion. He partly suceceeds. The blast knocks Spiderman out of the sky and onto the street, but not before he manages to slow himself down with additional webbing.
By this time, Iron Man has decended to street level as well. He follows the web trail to find Spiderman has already taken to swinging again. Suddenly, from behind, Spiderman launches his body into his adversary–knocking him forward to the ground.
Spiderman takes advantage, covering Iron Man in a webbing cacoon. Iron Man fires up the thrusters burning some of the web and launching upwards. Before he can fully burn off the remaining web binding his arm, Spiderman is on him. Spidey hits the armor repeatedly seaching for weakness. Iron Man fires upward and Spiderman is forced to let go before he is too high off the ground. With his free arm, Iron Man stops him and takes them both far above the city.
Not sure how to proceed, Spidey spews more webbing into Iron Man’s helmet blinding him. Iron Man throws Spidey away. Spiderman tries to tether himself to Iron Man, but misses as the thrusters go on-line once more.
Iron Man dencends to the city to find Spiderman didn’t survive the fall.
Results: Iron Man wins and messy battle.
