Fictional Fighting at its Finest

Neo vs. Wonder Woman

Tags: , , ,

Ground rules: Of course Wonder Woman could clean up with Neo in the real world, so we are going to place her with all her Amazonian abilities into the Matrix for this fight. Digital Diana may seem like a stretch, but it’s only fair. See my post on home court advantage for details. As far as Neo goes, his power levels reflect those shown in the Matrix Revolutions.

Personal Bias: I loved the first Matrix movie and I like the other two films a lot more than most. If this was a popularity contest, Neo FTW.

Fight! The combatants charge each other immediately, both expecting an easy win. Each blow is blocked or dodged at speeds barely perceptible by a human eye. Neo didn’t realize that Wonder Woman is a warrior with extensive training with some of the best fighters in the world, in that aspect she is more like Batman than Superman. However, the fact that Neo has uploaded all the moves and techniques of every major fighting style and martial art still gives him an edge. He eventually connects, knocking Diana down clean though the cement of the street and into the sewers below.

Before Neo can inspect the sewer, Diana is already topside emerging from another manhole. She flings the cover at Neo like a frisbee. He holds out his hands and makes the projectile slow and drop before him.
Wonder Woman takes to the skies and Neo follows. They weave in and out of the skyscapers making up the city skyline until Neo loses track of her. Suddenly her heel drops from above like an anvil and launches Neo down creating yet another crater in the street.

He rises to his feet, but he’s too slow. Wonder Woman is already there and pummels him back into the concrete. Neo tries to escape and uses the ground as a springboard to put some distance between himself and his attacker.

Diana isn’t ready to show mercy and, with her golden lasso, binds Neo before he is out of reach. The lasso compels Neo to see past this digital arena to the truth and is booted out of the Matrix.

Results: Wonder Woman wins by either Neo’s disqualification in leaving the Matrix or by Wonder Woman also leaving the Matrix and finishing the beating in the real world.

Well I understand your position but I have to disagree and say that Neo would have to win. And that's based on the rules we learned in the final movie: There's a 0: Agent Smith, and the 1: Neo Both are absolutely and entirely invincible and undamagable by anything within the matrix. The only exception is if they cancel each other out by merging and both dieing. So any character, whether superman, or Doomsday or any power of any imaginable force could harm neo or agent smith within the rules of the matrix. I can imagine one situation where you might have a draw. Suppose it was professor X vs. Neo. He could forever hold him in a mind freeze state and neither would be able to harm the other.

In the final battle of Revolutions, Neo didn't look invincible. I realize that he was fighting Smith, but he was taking damage the who way. I see no reason why Wonder Woman couldn't deal damage as well.

Anyway, the fight itself doesn't matter that much. In my scenario, she won because of her magic lasso. As long as that still works in the matrix, she should have it.
  • I don't think being forced to see the truth would force Neo out of the matrix. He's already aware that the matrix is what it is; an incredibly complex simulation of reality. In fact it's that ability to see the truth of his surroundings in the matrix, and effect that truth with his perceptions (there is no spoon) that enables him to do the feats he does.
